Welcome to Junior Development League Football!
JDL football is an innovative youth tackle football program developed to promote the game of tackle football to young players of various age, weight and ability levels. The JDL philosophy is "player centric" and implemented in a manner that assures a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants. All players will get the opportunity to learn all aspects of tackle football including the basic fundamentals required to effectively compete on the field. JDL Football promotes physical fitness through healthy competition. All players will enjoy abundant and meaningful playing time by getting the opportunity to learn and play every football position.
Players compete against each other in equitable and competitively balanced situations. As a result, all participants in JDL football derive significant benefit from the experience by developing new skills, gaining increased confidence, self-respect and self-worth, all while learning valuable life lessons including sportsmanship, teamwork, commitment, acceptance of discipline and the respect of others.
All JDL coaches are trained and certified by USA football. Coaches are trained to teach players "heads up" blocking and tackling techniques which is intended to reduce injuries and promote safety. All coaches are also trained on the latest player safety protocols.
